Computer games are not working, neither are songs.

She said at school they have been writing them down on a square and timing her. She only knows twos by adding.

Can anyone help please

Also what functions should an end of year four child know in maths please.

x9s on her fingers.

Hold out both hands, palms facing you.
1x9 - hold down finger number one and count the remainder
2x9 - hold down finger number two - you are left with finger one on its own (1) and the eight fingers up on the other side (so 18)

Hmmm...I might be making it sound complicated

hold down finger 5, and you are left with four fingers up, then the gap, then five fingers up, so 45 (5x9= 45)

If children can see patterns 9X is an easy table but often children with working memory issues struggle with pattern.

I've been teaching my son using the grid method, he was mortified when he first saw it but then thought it was great when I chopped it in half and he realised he only had to learn half and he would automatically learn the other half Grin.
