Ah but you'll never have to remember to buy name labels before September ever again! i've been stamping everything I can get my hands on Grin. I need ds1 to grow up a bit more so I can send him to Beavers so I can stamp his toothbrush in readiness for going on a sleepover. I am stupidly excited at being able to stamp toothbrushes. And the sides of pencils. Anything really.

I have "cabbage sisters" on my clothes labels and someone else in dd's class has "surname family".

i want to be a cabbage sister...

but they'd be dead, indith, and i'd be in prison (see aforementioned Bunkbed Incident) so it would be a waste, really.

bear in mind, by the way, that so far a sharpie has done the trick.

Grin

I have considered the surname option but common surname plus multiple children and mixed age classes is a recipe for disaster. Ds2 should have been a girl, he'd then have had the same initials as his big sister. Just think of the savings.

I use easy2name, iron-on and stick-on.

A year after daily runs in the dishwasher the stick-on labels on DD's water bottle look like new.

The iron-on: you need to be thorough and don't rush then there is no way they get off. I had to re-do a couple after my very first attempt with labels but that was it.

I hate sewing and know that DD would just start picking on loose thread. Also I can iron the labels in the neck so DD finds it easier to pick her own stuff instead of turning them around to find the washing label.

I second stamptastic its amazing, doesn't come off after multiple washes!
