she made a card herself and put a little poem in it

she did a picture of bags and shoes because apparently the teacher likes them and then the poem in the middle was going well until she wanted a rhyme for bag and ended up with the line

'you're not a boring old hag'

please tell me the teacher will find this funny -she is teaching my other dd next year!!!

Fab! She will love it - and probably remember it far more than a more conventional thank you card Grin

Keiza · 20/07/2012 22:08

Brillant! What's not to like? Grin

exoticfruits · 20/07/2012 22:15

As a teacher I love it. Grin

EcoLady · 20/07/2012 22:39

At least she included the word 'not'! Her teacher will love it Grin

No, that's fine.

It'll make her smile!

ElephantsCanRemember · 21/07/2012 09:28
Grin

My DD made bracelets for both of her teachers. One had the initials on it FT - for Favourite Teacher, the other had SF, for Second Favourite Grin

TroublesomeEx · 21/07/2012 09:30

However that ^^ is just harsh! Grin

professorpoopsnagle · 21/07/2012 09:32

I am sure they will love it. My best ever card from a child was when I was leaving. They had written

'Sorry you're living'

Grin

Folkgirl Grin But she meant it in a nice way I hope, anyway it was better than her original plan which was to use the letters SB - Second Best. Grin Both her teachers are wonderful and I am sure hope they were pleased, if only for the amount of effort she put into making the blasted things.

In Year 4 my daughter did a thank you for her teacher that she liked. The teacher in question had a lot of sickness, nothing in particular just a lot of different things, for example chest infection and bad ankle. She had a regular cover teacher for a lot of the time.

She said "Thanks for teaching me for half the year"

I let her give it to her. The teacher had a sense of humour so I hope she laughed.

ontheedgeofwhatever · 21/07/2012 15:20

DD's said

I will miss you, I hope you live the next year 1 to. Live DD

I kind of hope her teacher will survive teaching next years year 1 too Grin

FallenCaryatid · 21/07/2012 15:25

I still have a card that says
'Thank you for being a fantastic techr and lerning me spelings and uvr fings.'

That child is now 31, I wonder what he's doing?

SarkyWench · 21/07/2012 15:32

Ds drew a picture of his teacher in which her hair is completely grey.
She is not grey (thanks to her hairdresser)

SarkyWench · 21/07/2012 15:33

And his other card started off...

"I fancy yu"

(think he meant "I thank you")

AuntieBulgaria · 21/07/2012 19:50

DD's only just started writing and tends to put words wherever she finds a space, so her card to pre-school staff read 'love lots of DD'.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 21/07/2012 19:56

I love cards like that.

One of mine had a limerick about me which made me laugh out loud.

Another one said 'Dear MrsPantryBoy, you are the best teacher I have ever had (so far)'
I loved the fact that I may be usurped in the future!

TheBuskersDog · 21/07/2012 20:30

I had one saying "you are my third best teacher (Miss xxx is number 1)", I've no idea who is second!

carycach · 22/07/2012 21:24

My DD2 Yr2 made her lucky lucky[ Wink ] teacher a painted paper crown which I guess she was then required to wear.
and the poem

Miss F , your class is lots of fun
Just like me you love to run
the thing that i liked the most
was the trip to the coast
i like pe in the hall
gymnastics was the best of all
i like it when you give me a hard sum
when i'm sitting on my bum
i made some soap to keep me clean
I played tennis in a team.

I think the poet laureate can sleep soundly for a few years at least!!

Haberdashery · 23/07/2012 22:02

I know someone whose daughter could only be persuaded to write 'ANCIENT SPIDERS' in a thank you card. Count your blessings.
