do I speak to the subject teacher before the holidays (not sure if I will see her or not) or speak to her new teacher in the new school year

(it's about the comentary on her report not matching her score, DD doesn't understand what she needs to do to improve as commentary says she varies her writing style to the audience, her target says she needs to vary her writing style to the audience???)

I'd speak to her teacher now.

Agreed, in this case.

Her new teacher wont be able to answer the question as she/he wont have seen enough of your child's writing to know if she varies for audience. The current teacher will explain if it is a typo or if they simply didnt clarify properly.

I'd do it in a subtle 'what can we do over the summer to work on this because we're a bit confused' type way, but yes speak to her current teacher

spoke to the teacher

apparently scores were capped by the head of english as they hadn't done enough work to consistently grade them at the higher level across all genres of writing (I'm sure a teacher will let me know if that's standard?)

she's to carry on as she is

I explained to the teacher that it had made my DD confused as to what she was doing wrong and she was mortified (I will have to get my perfectionist child to calm down a bit lol)

I have a DS in year 6 (just left) who has attended what had always seemed fantastic school in north london.

However this school report has said that he has made 'Hurtful and Unkind' comments to his peers. As this is his final report I am very upset. His report in general is very negative and we are so upset that we are planning to tear it up, however I can't seem to forget about it, as he is such a kind and popular character.

Do you think I should persue this, especially as my DD is still there for 3 years.

Is his teacher allowed to put this on his report? It seemed spiteful.
