Have collected nearly £80.00 from 1/2 the class. We are planning to buy a bottle of champers and get a John Lewis gift token for him. However potentially we could collect another £15 or so for him (depending on who we manage to track down in the playground) and I'm wondering about some type of appropriate-from-pupils book for them to sign and give to him (all of them not just the ones whose parents have contributed). Any suggestions?

I would question a John Lewis gift token, to be honest. I don't think many young, sporty blokes would even know what John Lewis is!

How about Amazon vouchers instead? They do so much nowadays.

As for the other part of the present, do you know which teams he supports? If he's an avid football fan, then maybe some sort of memorabilia? Or a match ticket?

Or a Kindle?

How about a joke book (jokes he could share with his class, of course) or a book of stories he could read to them?

Vouchers or a swiss army knife (everybody wants one of them)

Thanks for suggestions - keep them coming? A Kindle sounds like a good idea but what if he's got one? Trying to consider how on earth we could find out quickly!
