She's just had her Apgar score. I know she'll be one of the younger ones in her year and I probably seem a bit pushy, but I don't really know what all these scores mean. I really think she's really quite gifted and is almost certainly Oxbridge material.

Is there anything I can do to push her over the summer? Workbooks maybe?

Our baby came out with an MSc. Dh was quietly disappointed as nephew was born with a PhD and work colleague recently gave birth to a baby who had been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.

Apgar schmapgar,

You know the God particle thingie, my youngest dc had that figured out AAAGES ago.......

5a = be afraid, very afraid.

My 6 yr old came home with a 5a and could not understand why I was furious.

"Tarquin" I told him "you won't get the job of polishing the red button, let alone pressing it with an attitude like that."

Well, DD had an apgar score of 9 and 9 at birth.

Bloody genius.

LynetteScavo · 06/07/2012 22:09

The reason she didn't score 10 is because she was calm and content and not bawling, you understand.

Harleyband · 06/07/2012 22:17

OP I suspect you weren't being diligent about the maths flashcards, phonics work and French immersion in utero EVERY DAY. Maybe you can try a little harder with your next. Unfortunately, I see bog-standard comp in her future.

I think the OP is either having a bit of fun and seeing who will take the bait

OR

her DD really has only just been born but when the Paediatricians were doing the Apgar score at birth, the baby said "Pah, let's skip that bit, just give me a SATS test instead" and now OP wants to give her some extra tuition over the summer before DD starts her Classics degree at Oxford Uni in September!Grin

OP, if your DD got a 5A at SATs, then well done her, thats fantastic!! You should be very proud.

But if she didn't, then this must be about the 74th thread with "My foetus got into Oxbridge" jokes on it...........Confused is it that funny???
