Need help with school costume requirements. I know it's been done ad infinitum - but this one has a novel twist...

ds1 came home from school today to tell me that they're doing ancinet Greeks this term. And obviously there's a tie-in with the origins of the Olympic games. So on Thursday his class are doing an assembly for the rest of the school on this subject.

All ok so far - but he tells me that for this he has to dress as an ancient Greek athlete. The only problem is that the ancient Greek athletes used to compete naked, covered in olive oil. I'm not sure that the school would appreciate it if all his class chose to perform in authentic costumes So what do I dress him in?

just go for the ancient greek look, so basically a white sheet, pinned on shoulders and tied round waist, knee length so he can run in it!

(and a pair of shorts underneath in case the pins come adrift!)

Agree with white sheet. Use rope or twine to adjust it around the waste & at the shoulder. If you've got a gold metallic belt - have your DS use that around his waste (probably two times) for the look. (agree about the shorts underneath).

Wear sandals for your feet - preferably leather if you have them. If you want you could make little wings and tape them on the back of the sandals to be like the Greek God Hermes (Roman Mercury).

If you have pipe cleaners and green card - you could make an olive wreath to wear.
