Teachers - Are Cartridge Pens OK to use from Yr 4?

Just wondered, as DC starts new school in Year 4. Is it acceptable to include in her Stationery set?
What else to inculde - any particular good makes?

Am not a teacher but at my DCs school they use cartridge pens (Lamy) from Y4. My DD also has a Berol handwriting pen on standby for when the cartridge runs out mid lesson.
