Would you have an issue with a tattooed primary teacher?

No Hmm

poppycat04 · 29/02/2012 20:43

How tattooed? And ...no

SandStorm · 29/02/2012 20:44

No.

ButWhyIsTheGinGone · 29/02/2012 20:45

Nope. Unless it crossed the obvious boundaries of offensiveness. Out of interest, why is the "male" bit relevant? Not being picky - just curious. I am a tattooed female primary teacher.

southeastastra · 29/02/2012 20:45

depends what tats they were really!

kennythekangaroo · 29/02/2012 20:45

No. Why?

2cats2many · 29/02/2012 20:46

Well, I have a tattoo, so it would very hypocritical of me if I did.

HippyDippyDooDaa · 29/02/2012 20:46

One of the best teachers I've ever worked with was a man with completely tattooed arms. His class used to "sparkle", they loved learning with him!
So NO

maddiemostmerry · 29/02/2012 20:47

Hi, thanks for the replies.

Butwhy, the only reason I said male was because my son is tattooed and starting a primary Ed degree in Sept. I was a bit concerned about what parents may think.

As long as he was good and the kids trusted him then no I wouldn't have a problem :)

maddiemostmerry · 29/02/2012 20:48

Not offensive, it's a bird.

If he had 'I hate kids' tattooed on him I might.

There are two male teachers in my dc's school - I wouldn't be surprised if one had tattoos (unsure as he's not taught mine yet).

He has piercings

ButWhyIsTheGinGone · 29/02/2012 20:49

Ah I see! No - some of the men I trained with were tattooed - it was never an issue. Your son should be fine! :)

Petrean · 29/02/2012 20:49

Depends... If he had an enormous scary one on his face I might be a bit Shock but what could I do about it? If he was heavily tattooed on the arms (say like David Beckham) I'd be Shock and secretly hope he wore long sleeves.

If he had a discrete one on his left bum cheek, I wouldn't know and therefore would not be Shock unless he got it out on a parents evening to show me.

countessbabycham · 29/02/2012 20:50

Not a problem unless it involves naked ladies or similar,in which case I think I would want them covered up somehow.

Feenie · 29/02/2012 20:50

I am a tattooed primary teacher too. You wouldn't see it though, it's on the back of my shoulder.

A few of us have tattoos - an old head I worked with had three.

VickityBoo · 29/02/2012 20:51

Why would anyone?

TheCunningStunt · 29/02/2012 20:51

No problem at all

AThingInYourLife · 29/02/2012 20:51

No

"If he had 'I hate kids' tattooed on him I might."

:o

Yeah, I might

bigTillyMint · 29/02/2012 20:52

Can you see it when he is smartly dressed?

VickityBoo · 29/02/2012 20:52

Lol Moln yeah I may take issue with a forehead tattooed with 'I hate kids' lol Grin

Plonker · 29/02/2012 20:53

Well, naked women down a forearm would put me off and make me judge, definitely.

Can't say I would be bothered about harmless tattoo's or patterns.
