To mums who live in Northampton - could you please recommend some outstanding schools?

Hi,

We possibly will move to Northampton and I know nothing about the area...

I would really appreciate if you could recommend me some nice areas to live with outstanding primary schools nearby.

Out little one is 9 months old and I'm already quite stressed out regarding choosing a preschool / primary school etc.

Thank you very much! xxx

Where abouts in Northamptonshire?
I live on the Cambridgeshire/Northamptonshire border and my 4 year old DS went to a Outstanding nursery in Sawtry then on to another Outstanding primary in Great Gidding. We are happy with his progress and how happy he is, mind you the Outstanding is OFSTED, so take it as you will, but we were really happy. I would recommend this area, but if you have to be close to Northhampton then I dont really have the knowledge to advise. If you can travel a bit then look around as there are lots of lovely areas around. Good luck!

Caroline Chisholm School in Wootton Fields is 'outstanding', the nursery is open to anyone but you have to live REALLY close to get into the primary school, the year we applied only children from the 3 streets nearest got in. Wootton is a nice place to live, lots of open space, local shops, handy for the M1 and loads of young families.
If you want independent schools I think the better choices are in Bedford.

Thanks Jooles999. I think both locations are a bit far for us. Ideally we want to find a place around Northhampton...

I would second PalmTrees - if you are looking for an area to live & great schools within that area then I would recommend Grange Park, Wootton Fields, Hardingstone and surrounding villages. Close enough to town and everything you need but also villagey and 2 mins from the M1.
