Am I the only mum not emotionally scarred by DS starting school...

So he's 4 yrs & 1 month, totally ready & delighted to be there with a lot of his nursery friends he's known since he was 6 months old.
I found it all very exciting and not upsetting at all...
(and to make you good mothers recoil in even more horror...Wed is my (occassional) day off, school finishes @ 3pm - bit of a rude awakening compared to a 5pm pick up from nursery!)

I was fine. One of the first mums to say goodbye and leave their DC in the classroom.

DS's classroom has a super-whizzy high-tec smart board thingy which impressed me. Teacher seemed to have everything under control so I left them to get on with it.

I think it was our teacher that made the difference too - practically shoved me out the classroom!

Sounds like you have an ideal scenario - if my dcs had started with lots of their friends I don't think i would have found it that hard either. It's dropping your child off with a bunch of strangers that is the killer.

I have to wait until next week to pack mine off.. I can't wait!

He used to be in nursery which we couldn't afford for August, he's missing his friends and it's hard to entertain him all day every day :)
