Thank you, my dd1 is in P2 (we are in NI), just about to turn 6 in 2 weeks and she has just read me a bedtime story. Without sounding arsey it was one of the happiest moments of my life and I will always treasure it.

Nothing fancy, an M&S Early Readers Beauty and The Beast!! ( I was contemplating fibbing and telling you it was Dickens Grin) but it was a brand new book to her, no learning it by rote.

She has 2 younger sisters (one just 15 weeks old) and although we do read with her, time has been tight the past few months, so its all down to her teachers and assistants. I am raising an imaginary glass of wine to you, Christ knows how you do it, I couldn't Smile

Thanks! At least some people 'out there' appreciate the hard work that teachers and assistants do.

Believe me, it isn't easy teaching a class of 30, 5 & 6 year olds to read and write - especially when they want your undivided attention every 5 minutes! Lol!

And to you, I wish all parents were as proud and supportive as you are. It'd make our jobs easier.

I have a beer- I'll raise it instead (and to clarify, my school is closed tomorrow!)
