Beavers - 1st trial next week should I rush out and buy uniform or wait?

dont want to go buy it all for DS to not want to join, should I wait a few weeks before purchasing?

They don't need the uniform until they have been 'invested' which will be in a few weeks time.......

Wait. It is a trial and he may not like it. I seem to remember they don't wear it until formally invested anyway.

Absolutely wait, the uniforms are expensive, he may not like it, he may get board of it in a couple of weeks and do something else, as other have said you may be able to get some second hand from someone moving up to cubs and also each group can often have different 'key' uniform pieces that are needed and others that are optional (for example my dd's Rainbow group insist only on the polo shirt all other bits are optional), best to wait and find out!
With Rainbows dd needed to have her uniform before she could make her promise, this is normally about a month after a child first joins.

You might want to think about borrowing a sweatshirt from someone (if you can - without the badges!). When my ds started he was very reluctant at first and we had a terrible time getting him to return. When we got to the bottom of it he felt different as he was not in a uniform. He did get over it after about the 3rd session, but if you can afford to buy a secondhand one before he commits, I would definitely do it.

Wait for sure

I would wait unless you see one cheap, my DS joined in Feb and as the uniform has just been updated (beaver logo put on bottom, not big change) we managed to get a brand new old style jumper for £5 and also his lodge wear their own t shirts not the official beaver one. Hope he enjoys it my lad loves it :)
