At the end of the last term, DD (in reception), came out, over laden as usual with all manner of interesting crap things she had made, as well as a plant, and an egg....all stuffed in her book bag.

I emptied the book bag. iKNOW i did.

Fast forward to first day back today, and i have just been checking her bag for her daily 'bump' letterGrin and found a party invite- for last SaturdaySad.

I feel really bad, mainly because I ALWAYS RSVP, expecially as Ds's birthday is at Christmas, so i know holiday-time parties can be difficult to organise Also, the girl whose party it is one who DD really likes (and her mother is a teacher at the school, so i am bound to bump into her!).

I feel really guilty- i have no idea where the invite suddenly appeared from. i hope the little girl in question doesn't think badly of dd (who would have loved it, was a Pirate and princess party).

I am not usually the slightest bit bothered , or precious about parties, but i just feel a bit rubbish.

Slap some sense into me, someoneGrin

I think most people miss a party at some point or another. Phone the mum and apologise then forget about it!

send in a little present tomorrow and say sorry for not finding the invite in the card. the DM should have known better though and done a ring around. I didn't look in school bags at all until I was packing them this morning.

You're not rubbish just normal!

Agree with cece - ring / text apologise and invite the party girl to come to tea - will please your DD, friend and friend's Mum

Oh I did this too! It's fine! It may not even be the last mistake like this you make....she wont remember this or even know! I got in touch with the Mum to say sorry....now I go through her bag with a fine tooth comb! Dont worry!
