To all those who have problems with a teacher...go and see the teacher once or twice before taking it to the Head. I have lost count of the number of threads I've read where the advice has been .....go to the Head. Teachers are on the whole: reasonable, well-adjusted, ready and able to listen and act on criticisms, worries and requests. i appreciate that if you have seen the teacher once or twice and nothing has changed then quite rightly your next recourse is to the Head but give teachers a chance first...

I'd also suggest that actually in lots of schools it isn't the Head Teacher next. In my school for example, the Head is the last person you would speak to, if there are concerns. Usually, you would move to Phase Leader or Senior Leader before Head Teacher.

Exactly - do that at my school and the first thing the head will say is 'have you spoken to the teacher? No? Then I suggest you do before seeing me'. Obviously it's different if it was a serious allegation, but the vast majority of times he will not be interested unless you've tried to resolve it first.
