Anyone a member of this website? Is it worth the money?

The School Run - they are offering membership for £60.

Is it worth it? Do you get value for your money and plenty of use out of it?

I would say that any worksheets etc that you get on there you could find for free on the net.

Thanks TV, I thought that might be the case, which is why I'm apprehensive about signing up (but I am very curious because of their promises of endless resources!)

If anyone else thinks it has any benefits, let me know- ta :)

Once I signed up for the free subscription because they said they would give me a link with past SATs1 papers. They sent me an e-mail FULL of "do subscribe, if you subscribe and yes please subscribe for only £xx" but no link for what they were offering in the first place and no unsubscribe option. Do you get the mumsnet newsletters? If you do what is the first link at the top? "click here to unsubscribe". That's an honest website. Their e-mail had nothing like that Angry Any way, I had to e-mail them and they removed me from their mailing list.

No, they're rubbish. They keep spamming me.

sarahfreck · 03/04/2011 00:01

I signed up once because they said they would send lots of really good educational software included in membership. It wasn't really good in my opinion and wasn't even for the age range I had requested! It could have been bought elsewhere too!

sarahfreck · 03/04/2011 00:02

I sent it back and got a refund.

PS - If you sign up for their (nearly) free membership, they then keep phoning you to ask if you will join with full membership, plus fantastic (not) software and workbooks!

I did the free membership thing (wasn't impressed with what they offered to be honest) but haven't been hassled to take up the paid membership and not a single phone call ... I feel unwanted Grin

parentsintouch is a great website

They changed their name from child something. They are king of spammers and personally I wouldn't touch them.

southernbelle77 · 03/04/2011 16:01

They keep trying to take money out my bank account as the 'free' trial is up. As others said, there is no unsubscribe option. I deliberately put an old account on which isn't used so there is no money to take! Pain though!

mamadou · 04/04/2011 10:40

Thanks for the tip Coccyx - I'm checking out that website right now.
