Please would you take this letter about mobile phone safety into school?

With christmas approaching and lots of children getting electronic bits and pieces, can I encourage you to read this yourself and if you think it's worthwhile to ask your local school to distribute this letter?

This one is for primary, www.outofyourhands.com/site/images/takehomes/primary_take_home.pdf

The letter gives a web address of a site run by the police where electronic things like mobile phones can be registered for free incase they are stolen/lost then found again so it can be returned.

It also has a handout for children with advice how to lock their mobile phones and keep themselves safe.

I was really shocked to read that 1 in 5 children had their mobile phones stolen, that's terrible!

I'm shocked that primary aged kids have a mobile phone.

None do around here....

Thanks that's an interesting link - is there one for senior schools?

(I am on phone and can't resize the pdf to readit through thoroughly.)

Thanks for the replies all.

ChristmasTrulyReigns, there's a parents section on the site but there doesn't seem to be a particular letter for secondary parents, just a hand out for the teens. Note sure why the letter is just for primary as it's applicable for teens as well.

They have lots of resources for schools to use, videos as well. I've copied this, took ages to do the links!

  • this is a good site and we like that leaflet - schools should hand them out to children, good advice freebie ... Smile
  • talking of safety There is also a good road safety site - especially with dark nights now.
