I am a parent who loves crying about teachers

Is this the best forum for me. I have never taught but understand that having 2 children makes me the consumate expert. I am jealous that I see teachers earning 40,000 a year whilst I have to survive on 8000 a year which is so unfair. I like to b itch about teachers on the playground and trash their reputations amongst my bingo playing friends. I have read many threads on here and feel sure it is the place for me.

I think most people got it was a 'joke' RoadArt, perhaps just not a v funny one! Grin

AnyFuleKno · 30/09/2010 22:43

40,000 a year?? HA!

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 30/09/2010 22:43

If you are a teacher kellyegg you're not doing our profession any favours!

DirtyMartini · 30/09/2010 22:47

Kellyegg, I think you have chosen the wrong stick to beat us with because I haven't, in four years here, ever seen anyone posting about coffee mornings or bingo.

If you're gonna try to be cruelly mocking, at least get it right: Boden and mooncups

The thing is - they do get long holidays - haha (we're doing the devils advocate thing are we not?)

DirtyMartini · 30/09/2010 22:51

And spell "consummate".

AnyFuleKno · 30/09/2010 22:51

pop off kellyegg, there's a poppet. Lots of us work. I work full time. My husband's a teacher, thank god he hasn't got as shit an attitude as you.

Katisha · 30/09/2010 22:53

Anyway who wants to know how I got on at b ingo this morning? (I had a skinny latte while I was there...)

scruffymuff · 30/09/2010 22:56

Yes, what do teachers know? I think we could all do a better job, couldn't we? £40K for babysitting?? 13 weeks paid holiday? Easy!! Hmm

cory · 30/09/2010 23:10

To be fair, Stewie, I have known teachers who couldn't spell anything much at all. The one who used to set the spelling tests at dd's junior school was a case in point.

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 30/09/2010 23:11

I still want to know how to earn £40k - I'm on the SMT and everyfink and still don't earn anywhere near that! Sad

Katisha · 30/09/2010 23:24

You could try your luck at the b ingo of a morning...

Waves red stilettos at Kelly! Wink

Goblinchild · 01/10/2010 07:47

Yup, this is the perfect place. We have tournaments on a weekly basis and a melee at least twice a week in term times.
If we are fortunate enough to have Snow Days, you will be entered into the running battles, but choose your troop carefully so you are with like-minded companions who are angry about the same things, otherwise it develops into infighting which makes you disorganised.
HTH

HecateQueenOfWitches · 01/10/2010 07:51

Yes. You have found the perfect home here.

We all hate teachers. We all think they are crap and should be burned at the stake.

Oh and they never do a proper days work. 9 till 330 and all those holidays? pah. They should get a proper job.

Goblinchild · 01/10/2010 07:56

That's more like it Witch Queen Grin
I'd hate kellyegg to feel her efforts went unrecognised.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 01/10/2010 08:00

Grin I aim to please.

teachers? pah. professional students.

school - college - uni - school.

They've never lived in the real world.

They should gu dahn t'pit.

Or something.

Goblinchild · 01/10/2010 08:02

Oddly enough, my history teacher had come from the mines into teaching. Grin
He said mining was less stressful.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 01/10/2010 08:12

my dad did! he worked at the pit for year, until thatcher closed them all. Angry

Then he went to uni and retrained as a maths teacher. It had always been his dream. He was grammar school, latin speaking... but I came along when he was just 19 and well, needs must. So he gave up his dream.

Then after 3 years in the job he had a breakdown. Sad

20 years mining couldn't break him but 3 years teaching did it.

ShadeofViolet · 01/10/2010 08:12

I am jealous of my DS's year 2 teacher after DS said she was the 'most lovely and pretty lady in the world'

Envy
KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 01/10/2010 09:09

Hecate, that's so Sad. Did he give up teaching?

hollyoaks · 01/10/2010 09:22

5 years teaching under my belt and still nowhere near 40K, think I'll go to the staffroom and have a Biscuit.
