worried about my ds starting school but not for the normal reasons

My DS is due to start school on Monday and I'm feeling worried but not for the normal reasons. I know he will be confident and settle well, he is out going and self assured. I'm worried because he is such an energetic boy - he literally never sits still apart from when he is asleep! He is also extremely vocal - when he is excited about something or cross about something. He can be quite an overwhelming personality for more shy ones, or little ones (he is very big for his age). Am I silly to be concerned? I'm sure teachers will know how to handle a boisterous boy but I really don't want him to be labelled a trouble maker just because he is rowdy because he genuinely isn't and I think he is quite bright and will do well in the right environment.

Please don't worry there are plenty of opportunities for lively children to move around in reception classes and teachers are accustomed to settling new children. He will be fine

My son is quite boisterous and very into cuddling. He got told off for that. He is also very loud at times. Got told off for that too. Hasn't got full hearing.

Try not to worry. I am sure your child's teacher will have had fun boys before and will be able to get the best out of your son.

I'm not in reception this year but I love children with a spark makes the year fly

My dd was in Reception and is she loud!!!!! She is 'sparky' using the words of her teacher in her report. I was worried about it but even on the last Parents evening,I still brought it up but her teacher wasn't at all bothered. She said she loved it! It was also on that day that I learned the meaning of 'boisterous'. I described my dd as boisterous but got told off by the teacher who said 'boisterous' is negative but that dd is full of life. She said she plays safe and is aware of others when playing,etc.
I still am worried by the way but her teacher loved her spark!
I would say don't worry about your dc. You should meet mine!

My dd has just started in year 1. Last year she started reception as a quiet, shy, studious girl. There was a boy in her class who was loud, twice the size of my dd and he used to charge around all the time. Twice dd "bounced off" him and banged her face quite badly on the playground floor. She became quite scared of him and was a bit intimidated.
The teacher took plenty of opportunities to put them together. They are both bright and were reading buddies and in the same group. The boy soon learned to calm down a bit and not knock smaller children over (nothing he did was ever malicious). My dd gained in confidence and learned to stand up for herself a bit more. They are now good friends - go to each others houses to play and invite each other to their birthday parties.
What I am trying to say to the OP is - don't worry - the class will be full of a wide range of children and the teachers are very used to helping them all work together, make friends and get the most out of school. Good luck to your ds.

I remember being bothered about this when my DS ( now Y2 ) started Reception. He is lively, sensitive, emotional and bright ie quite a handful.

He adores school and it really suits him well. He likes the boundaries, worships his teachers and saves all his worst behaviour for me at home.

Your DS sounds great and I am sure he will be just fine.

Does he stop shouting,charging about when told to?

Thanks everyone I feel a reassured - yes he is quite a compliant child despite his spark, so I'm hoping that the structure and rules etc will suit him.
