Bored 12 year old!

So bit of background my 12 year old has ADHD and craves dopamine on his Xbox!
Hes limited to 5 hours screen time a day which I’m aware is a lot but if you have a child with ADHD you understand!!

Anyway we are going for our yearly camping trip in Scarborough in a couple of weeks, of which he’s usually quite happy playing at the park, football with Dad.

Dad and I have separated so we are going with grandparents this year. I’m rubbish at football and I’m concerned he’s going to be “bored” all the time with no Dad to play football with. His siblings are 7&3 so not old enough to play football with either.

Has anyone found any good games that would be worth buying to take. He loves uno which we’ve got and are taking but anything he else that might entertain him whilst we are on the campsite. Will be off site, on the beach etc during the day anyway.

Many Thanks!

Monopoly Deal
Dobble
Rat-a-tat-Cat
Love Letter
Exploding kittens

All good, small, card games and most of them your seven year old can play too.

Chess maybe?

Most kids with ADHD, mine included, need a lot of physical activity. I would try and find something which will keep him active.

2 of mine have ADHD diagnoses.

They needed lots of physical movement and outdoor time, not screen time.
They were much better for the screen time being tightly limited.

In terms of holidays - lots of swimming. Time on the beach. Long walks.

The swingball suggestion above is a good one.

My 13 year old is autistic and my 10 year old is potentially adhd they love the family version of cards against humanity. Its more funny then offensive humour which they love

My daughter loves her return ball. Easy to pack, fun, one player, that's also physical activity to tire him out a bit more than card games?
