Birthday presents for 12yo DD

My DD will turn 12 soon. Looking for gift inspiration as I feel this is a bit of a tricky age. She’s not a little girl anymore but still hasn’t outgrown toys etc. Starting to become very self aware - likes to do a little bit of make up and wear a nice outfit.

Any ideas appreciated! So far I’ve got:

Lego set
Pj set
Art therapy colouring with pencils (her brother wanted to get this for her)
Sketchpad
Flower hair clamps

Not doing very well! 😅 her birthday falls on a weekend this year so maybe a fun day out would be better? With a few bits to open too! Thanks ✨

What about something for her room..coloured lights maybe. Something to make it a bit more grown up. Sounds like you have lots of presents but concert tickets for her favourite band presuming you are prepared to accompany her!

Is she horsey? A riding lesson?

my friends with girls the same age as yours have bought their girls (I only have boys)

Dressing table
TV
New phone
shopping spree day
mum and daughter spa day
new boots
Go Ape! Experience
concert tickets

I have an almost 11 year old. This year she has asked for Ugg boots and and iPad pencil.
other items I was thinking clothes, reading light, some books she likes, a Stanley cup.
she already has endless perfumes and we’re not quite at the makeup stage yet.

i agree.. it’s a tricky age!

That’s a great suggestion 😊 she doesn’t seem to have a favourite band so I’ll have to subtly quiz her!

Yes - we love horses! I’ve given a pony trekking gift voucher in the past and was thinking about doing the same this year! I do find it a bit off putting with how expensive it’s got though! :(

Clothes are a good option now I find, although it’s come to my attention that I’m not trendy anymore haha!! Her Grandad gave her a kindle a year or so ago and she sadly doesn’t bother with it now :(

Going to look up Stanley cups now, thank you!

My DD is into make up and likes a bit of perfume now but my mums bought her a nice bottle. I’m a bit reluctant to encourage the make up too much 😂 it’s currently very subtle and looks nice, perhaps a neutral eyeshadow palette would be a good call 😊

A big set of lip balms or nail polishes of all sorts
Hair accessories
Washable hairsprays (could be glittery or colorful ones)
Gloowing stickers
Cute stationery if she likes it
Fragrance?

Does she have any favorite artists or movie characters? You can get her something from official merch stores or make custom things like a calendar with pictures of her favorite character or a big collage of her favorite artist's photos

Is she into DIY kits? There are all kinds of those as well, from accessory making to painting or grow a tree sets etc.
