Hi everyone, my daughter has just turned 11 and has an obsession over her hair atm. He her is poker straight and she wants to do curls and waves. She does headless curls but they always fall out or there not good enough. Im just wondering if anyone has any tips to save me from the meltdowns over her hair 🤣. She is looking for curling products to help but I don’t have a clue. She has tried the Umberto Giannini but doesn’t seem to work.

If her hair is poker straight naturally then there is no cream or gel that will make it curly. TBH the only thing that will really make straight hair hold a curl is heat - so a curling wand, ghds used as a curling wand, or heated rollers - plus mousse and hairspray.

Do you have any styling tools like this? If so I’d be saying she can use yours but only very occasionally due to the damage and only with your help.

Otherwise, plaiting wet hair and leaving it overnight can produce a bit of a wave, but it won’t last long if her hair really is poker straight.
