Multivitamins for a 12 year old

My 12-year-old daughter was recently diagnosed with Oral Allergy Syndrome (allergy to fruits and veggies). She’s always been a really fussy eater, and her diet is pretty limited. Fruits and veggies were one of the few things I could get her to eat, and now that’s off the table. She’s not a fan of most meats either. Does anyone have recommendations for good multivitamins for her?

Oh I don't know why my comment is hidden. I see that kids vitamins have fruit in so you maybe need to ask try Holland and Barrett

@Coffeeishot
We’re still not sure exactly which fruits she reacts to. Since her diagnosis, we’ve cut out all fruits to give her mouth a chance to heal. Once it settles, I’m planning to reintroduce them one at a time to see which ones cause a reaction. Because of her limited diet, she usually eats most fruits (except apples) so it's hard to pin points which ones she reacts to

If it helps grapes and kiwi and raspberries and strawberries are my triggers,

@Coffeeishot Thanks, she had allergies tests a few years ago and it showed she reacts to cats, dust, grass but was fine with birch, so I'm hoping she will be fine with the fruits under the birch category. She suffers with hay fever symptoms through the year.

Poor girl I have a latex allergy and hay-fever the oral allergy is just .the icing on the cake !

HelloNeighbour2021 · 20/08/2025 09:35

@Coffeeishot She really does struggling – her mouth gets so sore she can barely open it at times. Thinking about what you said with the latex allergy, she was helping me blow up some balloons at the weekend and said her mouth started tingling, so that might be another thing to add to the list. I honestly don’t know why she has so many allergies, as neither me nor her dad have them.

Well there you go ! It is the balloons, some people are just muliallergy i think it has been said that it is an autoimmune condition.

I would also suggest a probiotic to help with gut health. As the majority of the immune system stems from the gut. Wild Nutrition, Cytololan & Viridian are all high quality vitamins. It’s pointless buying cheap supermarket ones as they are full of bulking agents & artificial ingredients which actually won’t be absorbed and a waste of time. You can get a free consultation on wild nutrition with a qualified nutritionist & also cytoplan are very helpful if you contact them. Naturedockids on Instagram also has excellent resources for child health & recommendations for diet, lifestyle etc. Hope this helps x
