My daughter started her periods last month. It lasted 17th-21st July, she was in a lot of pain, felt incredibly sick so barely ate, doubled over from the cramps, very emotional.

She started again yesterday (12th August). She is definitely angrier than usual but the pain/cramps are less and she is eating more than last time. She felt really sick a week before.

I haven't had periods for years now so I can't remember. Is that a normal cycle time frame? I do remember growing up, mine always started the same day every month.

Is there a tracking app, that is free and simple? The ones I've looked at are quite adult and require a subscription. All I want is to track her dates so we know when to expect her next one.

Not sure if she has a fitness watch but that’s how I track mine. I’ve got garmin but I think Apple & fitbit will offer a variant too. 26 days sounds like an average cycle length to me.

Oh! She does have an apple watch. I'll get her to look into it. I didn't even think about that.

Suggest WeAreLuna - lots of resources on there for teens

The ‘clue’ app is brilliant for tracking menstrual cycle. It’s free (paying for the premium version isn’t worth it) and has a great visual, as well as learning the cycle and predicting next period. I use it to predict my ovulation as it’s mega painful and I need to avoid doing social stuff / being busy at this time.
