Hi everyone. I am trying to get organised and would like to buy clothes for my daughter. What do you suggest for those age 8-10? I heard this age group like comfortable/sporty clothes so that's on my list. What else do your child like to wear at this age? Please can you provided summer and winter suggestions. TIA.☺️

Does your daughter not have her own ideas? DD (aged 8) has very strong ideas about what she wants to wear. We shop together.

At that age my daughter liked H&M and new look stuff. Also started wanting all the Nike pro stuff. She became very opinionated about what she wore so in the end it was pointless buying things for her and I started letting her pick for herself.

Sports direct or new look / H&M.
i would get her to choose herself. I’ve lost count of the amount of clothes that are unworn if I choose them!

Is your daughter 8 already or are you buying for the future? I have a 10 year old and she knows her own mind 100% and has her own style. She prefers sportswear but her friends prefer to wear other styles. I’d be lead by her.

Thank you for your suggestions ladies.

Sorry, I'm buying ahead, she's 6 going on 7 atm. I understand she might have preferences when she's 8. But I feel there is a common theme on what this age group normally likes.

As mentioned above, Nike pro and sporty stuff are in my list as it seems to be popular at this age. I got hoodies and t shirts on my list as well.

What about summer dresses or preppy clothes or winter clothes i.e. jumpers? Do your daughters wear any of these?

I understand there is a risk that these clothes I'm buying will not be worn. But I just want to buy a few things as prep and we will then top it up with clothes she likes when she comes of age. Many thanks.

hello! btw, im a daughter not a mum. I usually shop at new look, H&M, primark, m&s, pandora (for cute bracelets), Lululemon, and yea that's probably it. just let ur kids wear what they are comfortable in. btw I'm between 9-11 😚

Honestly it varies, my DD 10 is still very much into leggings/jeans/joggers and tops but some of her friends are in what I would consider the more teenage styles.

Is there a reason you need to buy this far in advance? Girls can change a lot over those ages so there's a good chance she won't like the clothes you pick now.

Would it be possible to just set the money aside to buy them later, or maybe just buy some store vouchers for H&M etc, so she can choose later.
