Staying home alone..

So my 10 almost 11 year old wants to stay at home alone tomorrow with her friend(at our house). They would be at home for just over 5 hours and I work about 15mins away. I'm in two minds about it as I know she can be very responsible and well behaved but I'm just like is she too young? We live in a small and friendly village and I can ask my neighbour opposite to keep an eye out for me too. What would you do? She's been left home alone for about an hour or two before when we were down the road at the local pub and she wanted to go home. She has a phone as well.

Any advice would be great!! TIA xx

Check with the friend’s mum first. If she won’t allow her daughter to be unsupervised in your house your daughter is unlikely to want to be there by herself

Thank you. I should have clarified on my original post but her guardian is more than happy for her to be home alone as she has been left home multiple times for a few hours at a time with her cousin(same age 10 years old) x

I actually think there's more risk with 2 than 1. How long has your dd been home alone before?

Thank you I agree, I've not come across very well in my post about my feeling on this. I think it's because I wanted other people's opinions. I'm not happy with this but I know other parents who do let my daughter's friends stay home alone. My daughter has only been left between an hour and 2 hours but we was 2 minutes away the whole time x

Update: I have decided to go with my gut and not let her stay home alone as I'm not comfortable with it. I just wanted to see if I was overreacting or being overprotective. Thanks everyone xx
