My 7.5 dd has started to develop acne - she is being investigated by endocrinologist as has other signs of puberty and doctor agrees this is quite young. While we are waiting for results of hormone panel etc can anyone recommend a good mild cleanser? I’ve previously used child’s farm bath stuff/moisturiser and sudocrem on active spots but her skin is now quite oily and new spots are popping up in the T zone every day so I think we need to try something else :(
Ive had acne for years but it didn’t start until I was a teen so I’m used to using harsher actives and products. I just hope this is a minor blip for her and things settle down again so she doesn’t have to worry about this stuff for a few years, in the meantime if anyone has any recommendations for anything I can do to minimise the spots/scarring that would be fantastic. Thanks all

There have been studies about tweens and teens' skin being too fragile to use actives. Mild cleansers like the cerave one can be good - of course it's best to a dermatologist for this one. There's more expert-backed advice in this article that could be helpful, and maybe age appropriate since she seems to be starting her puberty journey! https://weareluna.app/parents/guides/skin-and-skincare/teen-skincare-routine/

Thank you for your reply - I agree about the actives, the doctor just told us to use a mild cleanser so I think we’ll give cerave a try. I just don’t want to make anything worse especially as she is so young. Thank you again
