Found drugs in my sons bedroom

Last night i was cleaning my sons room (he's on his first lads holiday) so thought it would give me chance to clean his room thoroughly because he lives like a tramp

He has a book shelf and there was a book on his computer desk so I've gone to put it back with his books and a little drug bag has fell out with white powder
At first I thought it could be cocaine but I've had my party days I know what it looks like
Yes I did stupidly dip my finger and taste a crumb of it it doesn't have a taste it's a fine white powder but tastes chalky does anybody know what it could be? I know what ketamine looks like and it's deffo not that and it isn't cocaine either so what could it be?

What does it smell like?

There are hundreds of different types of man made drugs sold in powder form that can easily be purchased online. They have become increasingly popular over the last 10 years. Lots are Class B stimulants.

Is it kinda wet/sticky? If so it sounds like whizz(speed)
Does it have a yellow or a pink tinge?

Ketamine it's grainy, it looks "shiny" and crystaly.
Kind of like sugar.

You might want to move this from preteens, as I assume your son isn't on holiday with his twelve year old friends.

It won't be heroin. I think you'd feel the effect of it if you stuck your finger and tasted that?
Mdma is crystal looking. White powder could be coke, speed, ket, or another research chemical.
I guess you'd better ask him.
It's not uncommon for young people to do recreational drugs. So don't panic too much. I presume he's not a preteen?

I know what whizz looks like it's not whizz it looks like cocaine but doesn't taste like it tasted chalky

If I didn't want anyone else's input why would I even post this I think you read my comment in a way it's offended you all I said was I know what whizz looks like that's all I said? And describing it to you
I had a pretty wild lifestyle when I was younger use to go to any festival I could do I have dabbled in MDMA ketamine and cocaine
I know I wouldn't be able to stop my son as he is having fun with his friends just like I did however I would like to have a talk with him about drugs as his parent so with me not knowing what this is I'm abit worried

I'm not 100% but that looks like Mephedrone (Mcat). It comes in various forms, one form is "bath salts" which the user crushes down into powder to snort.

I've also took all the above but is it possibly coke badly cut with talc or something? Is it more crystalised than that, hard to tell from the picture

It's full of small little balls of clumped powder that has a chalky consistency it like cocaine but similar

He could have a packet of something that isn’t what he thinks it is, so it may indeed be crushed chalk.

Does it matter what it is? You need to know the bigger picture and for him to trust you enough to tell you. There are risks from taking whatever substance it may be, but also from other people involved in the operation.
Is he buying drugs for personal use? Is he dealing? Has he been drawn into a gang or a county lines operation?

What you do will depend on what he is doing, and how old he is, rather than what is in the packet.

@HollyAnnLee well, that's not very helpful is it, him denying all knowledge.
There's a slim chance a mate left it there but then why not just say that.
Would he admit he sometimes does drugs on a night out, or even that he's tried them once? It depends I guess on how angry he thinks you'll be about it.

As a druggie heres what I can tell you

If it smells/tastes like gasoline its cocaine

If it tastes bitter its ketamine. Ketamine comes in many types of forms so don't be quick to dismiss the possibility based on consistency/texture. If it has a salty/savoury taste it could be ketamine cut with MSG or he could've been scammed and got straight up MSG

I doubt that your child has access to MDMA that pure. If so I'd be jealous 😂 it would be bitter+chemically tho

If none of this applies just ask him. In all honesty I suspect ketamine and if it is, be on him about it a bit but dont kill him yk haha. Ketamine isnt gonna be an issue unless it's a habit/dependence so just keep him busy enough that if he decides to get a lil trippy it's an occasion not a habit. Wish you the best of luck
