Independent secondary schools - Surrey/Hampshire

We were due to relocate overseas early next year, however due to various reasons we are no longer. Therefore we are looking to move to the Surrey/Hampshire area (as this suits for my DH work) and looking for an independent secondary school for September 25 for my DDs who will be year 7 & 9. As this has just hit us we have missed many open days and I'm feeling so confused as to where to start. The reason we're looking for independent is my daughter has already moved school twice and it's often difficult to break into existing friendship groups. I thought this might be easier in the independent schools as they tend to be smaller and many will be joining at the 11&13+. We haven't prepared my youngest with any tutoring for entrance exams and she's more of a creative so ideally looking for just a nice school with excellent pastoral care.

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!

You might be best asking @MNHQ to move this over to the Education Section @alwaysonthego33. You might actually get some replies in there Wink

Prior’s Field School in Godalming. My daughter is absolutely thriving there. They have an amazing arts/music/drama department. It’s got such a lovely feel to it and nice and small. All girls though 😊

So if you want to avoid changing schools again you will need one where Yr7 is the regular start year. A few will follow the public school model of from Yr 9. Sometimes those schools have a few years 7 and 8 but often just 2 forms
