Moods

The joys of a 14 year old DD, pleasant one minute then miserable and moody the next. What triggers it? Always hormonal?

I think I pander too much by asking what's wrong, pushing for her to tell me. Show I just leave her to it?
Obviously worried it could be bullying or worse but it's hard to get any information.
Tips greatly needed!

My personal belief is that it’s always a mixture of the two: emotionally sensitised by hormones followed by a real-world trigger event, however trivial. I think the key is to gauge whether the mood is uncharacteristically bad before launching an investigation.
