Is this cruel?

My daughter’s favourite friend has a Mum who’s not very nice.

She actually quite toxic and I’m trying to recover from ptsd and I find her behaviour quite triggering.

I want to block her on my phone, but I don’t want to hurt my daughter. She doesn’t call really anyway and if she really wanted to get in contact she could still call my partner, however, I don’t think she would try that hard.

I don’t mind her daughter coming around but I don’t want to deal with her anymore.

I don’t know if I’m being horrible?

I also don’t know how to explain this to my daughter in a way that is harmful.

Why do you need to mention it to your DD?
Just block her, when she can’t get hold of you she will message your DH. At that point you can either say you are having phone trouble or say you are taking a break from technology/limiting contacts due to MH/have washed your mobile in your pocket or whatever.

Because my daughter will keep asking me to call her to organise to meet up with her friend and won’t stop until I give a reason why.

I don’t want to have contact with this person at all.

How old is your daughter? And why can't your partner arrange playdates?

If she doesn't call you anyway, do you need to block her?

Are you getting any help with the PTSD?

It doesn’t sound like you talk much anyway? You say she doesn’t phone you? If you only contact each other to arrange the kids meeting up then can’t you just carry on doing that? What is she doing that is so triggering?
