Missed periods

DD11 got her first period in August then had her next one after 28 days in September. She's had nothing since and it's been 11 weeks. Is this normal? I'm a little concerned as I know girls can be irregular at first but 11 weeks is a very long time not to bleed once you start menstruating isn't it? I'd like to know if anyone has had similar experiences with their daughters. She doesn't like to talk about it even to me so she'd hate to see a doctor.

Yes, I think it's normal. I read an article about how many eggs does a woman have and it referenced the sporadic releasing of eggs in early puberty and again during the perimenopause, essentially the start and end of fertility is a bumpy ride. So yes I think it's normal. Also daylight effects FSH levels, which triggers ovulation, so winter months and lack of direct sunlight can effect fertility.

No. I think that's within the range of normal. I think it's a bit loopy for at least the first year.

Thank you both for the reassurance. That puts my mind at rest.
