Boys shaving legs

How weird is it for boys to shave their legs?

DS12 has always said he hates his legs being hairy. To be fair the hair is pretty light but it still bothers him. He says he doesn't like how it feels.

He's watched his sister shave and use cream on her legs and has now asked if he can shave his legs.

I all fit letting kids figure things out for themselves but am worried this could lead to bullying. DS says he doesn't care what others think.

Would you let your son?

My DS does... It is common in cycling circles.

I think it is very common for boys to shave their chests and legs. Some Men have their genital area waxed. DS is grown up and very hairy - far too hairy to shave or wax and for many years was too embarrassed to wear shorts and hated taking his t-shirt off. Fortunately his wife gave him the confidence to strip off on the beach. Boys are under a lot of pressure vis a vis body image, just like girls.

Cyclist shave legs, I shave all my body hair because its is actually uncomfortable(minus arms and legs) since I was 14. I would let him, it's normal

Swimmers and cyclists have been doing it for years.

Also footballers, no hairy legs running around the pitch these days
