First Deodorant Recommendations

My 11y/o son has been using pitstop deodorant for a year or so now. It's been good, but he's having a growth spurt and puberty really in its stride now. In recent months the pitstop hasn't managed to stop his BO. He used his dad's deodorant for a few days and we all noticed BO vanished! DH says maybe this is the way we go now, but I'm hesitant as he's so young.

I've been looking for a non-aluminum, natural/gentle deodorant but not sure if any of these are strong enough.

I'd be keen to have recommendations for some natural/gentle deodorants that work well... Or advice re. 'normal' deodorants!

Thanks.

I'd just get antiperspirant tbh as deodorants don't stop you sweating and just cover up odours.

Mine just started using what DH and I use once they started getting whiffy. I don't recollect worrying about it.

Pit Rock deodorant might be good because it's made of salt only, BUT you have to look after it and dry it so it doesn't dissolve, so maybe not suitable for a child.
Also... it stops odour but doesn't stop the sweat.
It's good for your body but it might not be right for you.
However, pit Rock do sell a spray, but it won't last for years like the Rock.

Maybe look into MooGoo deodorants.

Pit rock is made of alum, isn’t it - not aluminium free.

Salt of the Earth have a spray but I use it both after a shower (at night), and first thing in the morning. Your mileage may vary with a hormonal boy. Do you have a health food shop nearby? Ours has a reasonable selection of natural deodorants so could try that. I’m with you on wanting to protect DC from unnecessary chemicals while they’re developing.

Nuud is worth a look, I want to try it but haven't yet. Heard loads of people swear by it though. It's supposed to actually change the chemical composition of the sweat itself to make it not smell.
