12yo DD and stop start periods?

Just checking I'm not naively ignoring something that I should be paying attention to. DD(12) got her first period in September and has been pretty much regular for most of that time, until her last one in April....she has then not had one at all in May or June. I mean I know they can be erratic to start with but is this within the realms of normal and expected for the first year or so?

At what point would you consider seeing a Dr?

Meant to add she hasn't really had anything heavy in the 8 months or so that she had, very light and no cramps, and she breezed through the whole thing, which was nothing like mine at all, so I'm wondering if they might just come back and be more of a thing.

I started aged 13 and they were variable for years. They were usually med to light flow and lasted several days but often I went months between them. I think by the time I went to university they had settled but I can remember wearing a light pad/panty liner every day for years so that I wouldn't be caught out. A friend was put on the pill by her dr. to regularise hers.

My DD started hers last Nov & has only had three others since then. I hadn't considered this to be anything other than the normal process of hormones regulating themselves over time. I'm sure it can take a couple of years to fully settle so sounds fairly normal. If youre worried maybe speak to a nurse at your GP practice
