Recommendations for books about Chess

I know this is quite niche but would appreciate any recommendations.

My 12 year old is a decent but by no means exceptional chess player. He LOVES chess though and watches chess videos on YouTube all the time as well as playing online games.

I'd really like to get him a book about chess but not sure what to go for. It can be stories about players, tactics or anything else that will hold his interest.

Any mums with chess-loving kids who can suggest some good titles for him?

Nurturing kids' love for chess has been a rewarding journey. "Chess for Kids" by Michael Basman is a fantastic guide, making learning fun with colorful illustrations and easy-to-understand instructions. Another gem is "My First Book of Chess" by David MacEnulty, which offers interactive lessons perfect for young learners. My kids adore these books, they are into chess adventures eagerly, and our family bonding over games has deepened. Watching them strategize and grow through chess fills me with pride and joy. I even bought a chess set. These books aren't just about teaching chess; they're about fostering a love for learning and connection.
