How much gaming?

I have a 10 yr old DD and as many her age she is massively into Roblox. What is happening right now is not working for us and I feel we need to limit her time gaming more as it's starting to impact her education. As in a previously keen reader, now hardly reading. Also I know she will not have as much time when she gets to secondary school as her homework will increase.

I know answers are going to be hugely varied but I just want some ideas for what works for others? How much gaming to allow during the week and then at weekends?

Our 11 year old DS is allowed screen time on school nights after his h/w is done etc which usually ends up being a couple of hours of either gaming or tv. My view is I remember watching hours of tv after school and playing on my computer when i was that age, and I turned out fine! Weekends are a bit worse because he is an insanely early riser and we are not - he wakes about 6am and can read till about 7.30am then he can play on the iPad/switch for an hour or so. Then we are pretty flexible depending on homework and what we are doing. Some weekends we will be busy so only an hour or so later, others the weather is awful and we are bored and he probably plays for 3hrs or something ridiculous… But my view is it all balances out, and there is nothing wrong with having downtime like that. But one thing we do say as much as possible is h/w first then gaming. Setting structures/rules is key.
