Spots and face care

Just noticed my pre-teen has developed a few small spots on her face. Growing up I was very lucky not to have poor skin but my husband did so I think she is going to take after him. Best but gentle products to use? Thanks.

Do they have any kind of skin routine now @Cutie101?

Cerave facial wash
Effaclar duo range
Nip & Fab Teen Fix

She needs to cleanse properly- all of the above do a facial wash. She may also need hydration- it's a common misconception that oily skin doesn't need moisture. Oily skin produces more oil if it's dehydrated. Again, Cerave or La Roche Posay are both recommended by dermatologists.

Don't touch Simple with a bargepole- it isn't.

Nadine Baggott has a good video on YT about teen skin.

Going through the same with my preteen.

Unfortunately she has my skin.

I bought her the Mario Badescu teen acne skin kit for Christmas. It's making a difference already. Definitely in "purge" stage at the moment, but it's much calmer already.

Also were using the nip and fab pads after cleansing with Cerave for a month and again, having good results.

But as Pp says, HYDRATION is necessary. Speaking from experience, the more my hydrated my skin is, the less oily it is, so the less spots.

Anything with salicylic acid will help with small spots and with blackheads

YY to moisturising

And if it gets bad get her off to a derm ASAP

I got my daughter a soap and face cream from Lush, her skin has been a lot better since she started using them but could be just the improved hygiene..
