Spotify speaker for an 11yo

I have no idea where the right place to post this is, but let's start here. Our 11yo has an iPhone as she is now at senior school and taking the train on her own everyday. We don't, however, allow her to have it upstairs at home as we have concerns about what material she might access (or more worryingly, might access her) behind closed doors.
She is fine about this, but would like to be able to listen to her Spotify playlists in her room. Does anyone know what kind of a speaker would let her listen to music without the actual smartphone needing to be in the room. We don't have any speech activated devices like Alexa - would that work in this situation?

Yes you can ask Alexa to play from your Spotify playing, AFAIK only if you pay for Spotify premium.

Sorry Spotify playlist

@Cafog thanks for that. We do have premium, so that might work.

Hi @sighbynight I know this is quite a late response but we have something like what you're looking for if you're still trying to sort out a way for your dd to listen to Spotify offline. I got my boys a device called a Mighty a couple of years ago for Christmas since they didn't have phones but love listening to music and podcasts. You get an app for your phone to go with it and you can basically upload playlists onto the device. It's super and they've got great use out of it. It's specifically designed to work with Spotify premium.
