Shaving legs

My daughter who is nearly 8 commented tonight how hairy her legs are and that they look like men’s legs.
She asked if she can shave them.
She is very pale but has very dark hair and they are very visible. I was wondering how long before she becomes conscious of them, today was the day!
I am happy to help her shave them as they are obviously bothering her and they are very visible, but I can’t help thinking she’s so young, but I think I will do it regardless.
Has anyone else started shaving at this young age?

Gosh that is young. I'm pale with very dark hair and think I start at around 12, but I've only ever done half leg.

Like your daughter I was pale and very dark haired. I never plucked up the courage to ask to shave until I was 9 or 10 and it was after a sex education class we had PE and a girl in my class was asking about where else I had hair since my legs were so hairy.

I was horrified, I only have boys so won't ever need to worry about that for them, I hope but if I had a little girl and she wanted to shave her legs I'd let her or use veet or something similar.

Bless her for asking you. I started around ten years of age but didn't ask first :-).

Tell her to lather up in bath or shower and then run the razor over her legs.

It feels lovely to be nice and smooth.

I was just literally going to post about this. My DD has just turned six and has visibly hairy legs. I am really worried about her being teased at school. She is a bit olive skinned and it is quite noticeable. Earlier today she said I need to shave my legs 😢

@mumboss1984 bless her.
I ended up helping her do it this morning. She was so happy.
I used a men’s electric shaver (unwanted present my husband got for Xmas last year, came in handy!) so no razors involved! All done safely and pretty quickly - just below knees.

It's not the age that matters - it's whether they want to do it. It's just a skill for her to learn , don't worry about her age. MY DD started at 10 and if she'd wanted to earlier that would have been fine.
