Birthday present ideas for DS turning 11

DH and I are totally stumped as to what to give DS for his 11th birthday later this month. He likes football but doesn't watch it (apart from the Euros) as we don't. He plays in his local youth team. Otherwise he doesn't really have any hobbies other than gaming with/without his friends (gee, thanks, lockdown!) and seeing his friends.

He used to be an avid reader but sadly gaming has overtaken that this year. He actually enjoys both intellectual and sporty activities but doesn't seem passionate about anything in particular and the only thing he talks about is gaming!

We live in the Home Counties so london js fairly accessible for a day out maybe, but doing what?

What did you give your 11-year-old? Open to ideas, TIA!

Ps meant to say, I've ordered Marcus Rashford's book You are a Champion but obviously he needs something else as well!

Ds turns 11 in a couple of weeks too. He doesn't want anything especially so we've gone with a laser tag set he can use with his mates, an xbox game and new controller and he's taking a mate karting.

I know about games taking over! My 11yr old DS is the same its a phase of fitting in etc I am sure. I am rolling with it and got fifa ( using my nectar points at argos) for him and redecorated his room for his birthday so it's more 'grown up' it was lockdown at the time! He still loves sports and hated the pools were closed ( avid swimmer) and I had to encourage him going out on his bike I am hoping that compensates for some 🎮 time. It's been a werid few years so things like hanging out with your mates mean so much to kids these days so nothing special is required except fun with friends I am sure!
Side note: My DS is reading Marcus Rashford's book and is loving it! ❤ Good luck with birthday OP. 🎂

Activity day? Skiing, Young Driver, watersports etc? My DD wants to climb the O2...

An oodie, or the Amazon cheaper equivalent? My 12 year old loves his.

Escape Room, either a real one or one in a box? I have my eye on one that's 'School of Magic' for an HP fan who will soon be 11.

The 'Magic Goes Wrong' show for a day out?

At 11 my ds had a phone for his bday. For Xmas he had a bike, tennis stuff, stationary etc.

I think it's hard if they've got no interests isn't it. A new controller or headset are always on the list for my son because they always break.
