Books about boyhood

Bit of a random one. I’m in a same sex marriage and we have two DS aged 6 and 9.

Can anyone recommend any books about boyhood and boys development etc? Not so much about parenting boys but about BEING a boy?

I feel in many ways my sons are liked closed books to me and I sometimes wonder what’s going through their beautiful heads!

No idea but I find my DD way more complicated. Boys go to school and they're like "oh great football" and just run around (I know this doesn't apply to every boy but did to mine). Girls come home with numerous tales of who was talking about who, who was being moody, who was being mean...you get the picture.

Boys are like Labradors in my very limited sample of one
