Spots - that old chestnut

I've already checked for threads and have gleamed a bit of info, but I'm so confused so I'm asking again!

DD is 12 - very advanced through the puberty stage and started her periods two years ago. All of a sudden and very quickly, she's having breakout of spots on her forehead. She is soooo self conscious of them and I'm worried about what it will do to her confidence. None of her friends have reached this age yet. She's used cetaphil face wash for a couple of years. What do you all recommend? And will changing from something she's been using suddenly make things worse? Not sure what to do for the best but I'd like to nip it in the bud.

Tell me your successes!

Is she keeping her hair clean OP? My DS gets acne and it's much better when he washes his hair regularly.

Yes she's very good at being clean - showers every day (well, mostly!) and hair wash every other

The only thing that cleared it up for me at that age was erythromycin tablets and an antibiotic cream prescribed by the doctors! I would book her in with the GP as it is horrid for self confidence.

Charcoal soap.... urban theory is a good one .

I use the ordianary products - but I don't know what age they are recommended for.
And my skin has gone from constant break outs to the odd spot that's barely noticeable.

I use the Squalane cleanser
And the niacinamide acid. I can go highly recommend it. She could get the niacinamide and mix a very small
Amount with her moisturiser to see how her skin reacts to it.

Also, follow MySkinStory on Instagram. She had loads of tips and advice x

Thanks all - and I'll definitely follow the Instagram rec

Went to Boots tonight - what a minefield!!!!! Soooo many different products and the pharmacist suggested a cream that has benzoyl peroxide. Seemed a bit harsh to begin with so I opted for the Nip and (something) wipes so we shall see. Also looked at the la Roche Possay range that gets good reviews

She's still so young for all of this!!! Although probably only to me!!!

My dd uses the ordinary squalene cleanser and the ordinary moisturiser in the morning then a thin layer of sudocrem on the t zone every other night
