We got DD an Alexa for 11th birthday. Was a great hit!
And A camera lens she's been after.

I'm thinking of one those I stand photo printing thingys for this year. Don't know what they're called but will be keeping my eyes open on Black Friday.

worriedandannoyed · 22/09/2020 18:45

My 11 year old loves her alexa. She's asked for a 3D pen for her birthday but she's very creative

CountingToThree · 22/09/2020 18:46

My dd enjoys her Google home and Bluetooth headphones. She's still into lots of bits of stationery, drawing materials and anything Harry potter.

BarefootHippieChick · 22/09/2020 18:50

Small presents, does she like jewellery or have pierced ears? Or something for her hair?
Stationary/jigsaws/games that would appeal to pre-teens.
Something for her room, new bedding, cushions, photo frames, candles (my dd likes them even though she's not allowed to burn them), storage boxes etc.
What about a box made up of favourite treats, chocolate, drinks etc?
Does she collect anything, Pop Vinyls, Harry Potter, any film or tv show she likes that you could get her something like mugs, socks etc?

I’m struggling to know what to get my DD who is also turning 11 soon.
I’m getting her a bubble tea making box from here www.thebubblepanda.com
My parents are getting her a turtle tracking bracelet from here www.wildlifecollections.com/products/the-journey-bracelet.
Other than that I’m a bit stuck.

bookmum08 · 22/09/2020 21:38

What is she in to?
My girl is 12. She likes..
Pokémon
Cuddly toys
Beads
Zero interest in...
Make up
Hair things
Fashion clothes
11 is a difficult age.

justwinginglife1 · 22/09/2020 21:45

My DD is 10 and a half. She wants an Instax mini camera (like a Polaroid).

She also has on her list:
Air Max trainers
Bath bombs
Face masks
Pyjamas

I have got her some bits from the friends make up range from revolution and a ring light as she loves playing around with make up

Iamneverfull · 22/09/2020 22:03

My daughter is 11 soon and would like a nail lamp and some gel nail varnishes. She is really creative and wants to make designs. I bought her a Thumper plush from Primark (the nose lights up) and a pusheen mermaid from Aliexpress. She likes the Disney nighties in Primark (adults section, I just got XS). I might get outline pens, they look quite fun and some shrink plastic. I got a bracelet made with her name on it in a market. A mini butterfly kite. Some lip balms, she has seen some in Primark that attach to your phone. I will also buy a box and fill it up with nerds, harribo etc like a selection box. Some I heart revolution makeup or collection glitter eyeliner.

ShinyGreenElephant · 22/09/2020 22:10

For her 11th bday my DD got:
A ring light / phone stand (for selfies and tiktok)
An alexa
A 3d printing pen
A laptop off my parents
I converted half the playroom into a dance studio with mirrors, ballet bar, crash mats etc plus small TV on the wall for zoom lessons (was during lockdown)
Plus books, makeup, clothes

For Christmas I've got her:
A Polaroid camera
iPhone 11
New fitbit
Beats headphones

Then will be clothes books and makeup again plus stocking fillers like bath bombs, face masks, stationary etc

For anyone looking at Instax camera's I would recommend instead looking at the Instax mini printer. The problem with the camera's is they are absolutely hopeless in the sun and something else to have to have on hand everywhere you go. The printer is tiny and works with a smartphone so you still get the instant picture but with a lot more control over the image.

TickledOnion · 22/09/2020 22:54

The instax mini printer looks great. I was looking at the mini thermal printers. They are a lot cheaper but only print in black and white.

I was looking at getting her a sprocket, slightly more expensive but purely for that reason of being able to pick and edit the photos before printing. She won't be convinced though 🙄
TheTeenageYears · 23/09/2020 10:30

@justwinginglife1 If you can't guide her away how about something second hand? I'm sure you could pick up one which has barely been used.

That's a good idea, I will have a look. It's half the price of the sprocket so I don't mind paying it if that's what she really wants, I was more just thinking a printer would be better for the reasons you have said above. I'm currently watching it in my basket on Amazon hoping it will be even cheaper during prime week 🤞

I’m thinking of renewing her clothes as her style has changed to very very basic stuff ( tie dye tees, oversized hoodie etc.)

WellGoshDarnIt · 23/09/2020 14:06

Is she into drawing? My DD is 12 at Christmas and she's requested a graphics tablet from Wacom. They start around £60-£70 for a basic model. She's also asked for a phone holder and a couple of character lamps for her room, (PAC-Man ghost and Super Mario plant thing).

WellGoshDarnIt · 23/09/2020 14:07

Oh and she's desperate for an Oodie!!! They have loads of designs to choose from - she wants the avocado one.
