Hey all, I'm new round here and mainly joined for another reason but as I was around I thought I'd ask what other mum's have done 1-in the situation
My my daughter is 11, about to go into year 7 and is is pretty much a fully grown young woman. she's 5-ft 4-in height, c cup boobs and a steady size 10 with hips. If based purely on age she'd be classed as overweight I suspect but because she is tall and just a very early developer, periods a year ago now, she's absolutely fine and I should know as my best friend is a GP.
My question is what have other mum's with girls at this age and stage done as regards school uniform? the only stipulations thank god are something with the school logo on it, daughter has chosen the hoodie and it's already ordered. In terms of the rest of it, school shirts, trousers etc, she's not at all a verse to still wearing stuff from the school way range or teens range but the reality is none of it fits her particularly well. The trousers from the lakes of marks and Spencer or whatever seem to think that girls are going to get rather fat and shirts don't seem quite in tune with boobs
What are other mum's doing when they're girls get to this sort of size? I know it's a minefield out there with what school will and won't accept and that makes me a little nervous to start experimenting with office where in case it's seen as too fashionable, that being said daughter won't pick the fashionable looking stuff as she really isn't bothered about clothes at all and spends her life in joggers sports tops and hoodies from the likes of George and f&f. The one and only time we set foot in a New look store she tried on a couple of pairs of jeans, branded them too fashionable and asked to leave.
So basically it's a conundrum of of wood we have have probably lower budget end ladies office wear from somewhere like the above outlets or perhaps even Primark? And if the latter what pitfalls might we fall into in terms of schools accepting it.
If we stick to the teens school wear rangers who who do people find and are better in terms of accommodating boobs and hips and things. And finally, to save a separate thread has anyone solved the school appropriate swimwear conundrum? Daughter doesn't like the the regulation speedo suit that they suggest you by, they do say that something in a similar style that just plain black or with a very small logo is fine but not sure who people think are the best for this?
