Sex education

As lockdown prevented sex education going ahead, I’m wondering how other parents have or will be talking to their year 6 child about it? Dd understands about puberty as we had that chat after she started her period young, but I know she will find it embarrassing talking about sex so I’m not sure what the best option is. Ty

There are some really good books for children of her age - have a look on Amazon and see what you think she would like. Some are written in a cartoon style which appeals to children who like that kind of book, others are more ‘non fiction’ in their approach. Offer to either read them with her or answer questions after she has read them. Some schools list the films they would have shown the children in their sex Ed policy, so that might be another idea.
