Girls shoe size and height

11 year old dd has size 7 feet but is still quite short (4'11"). Shoe shopping yesterday ended in tears. To be fair her feet do look a bit out of proportion. I would say she is probably due a growth spurt, but wondering if her feet are likely to keep growing with her. Do feet finish growing before height?

i think my dd was a size 7 shoe at 11 but was 5'5...shes now 5'8 at 13 (fair bit taller than me)and a size 8 shoe-she will only wear trainers&DMs so fortunately havent had any shoe related issues but yes her feet were bigger before her height! I think your DD at 11 will deffinately have some growing to do -she may shoot up depending on her genes.

Thanks Belgrano. She already has a complex for being short (she's not particularly short for her age but a few of her friends have shot up and she has been left behind). Now she has a complex about her feet. Not a major issue in the scheme of things but curious to see what growth rates were like for others.

Yeah my dd always stood out for being the tallest by a mile(&at times was pretty uncomfortable with it)its only been the last 12mths that she's stopped viewing it as a negative-i guess her confidence is improving as other girls are catching her up so she doesnt stand out so much!.But there's always something isn't there-we're have the drama with bra shopping at the minute : (

I remember my feet stilling growing a around 14 (size 6/7) and I grew until 18 (6ft) so I don’t think they grow right up until you reach maximum height.
On the flip side my kids are teased about for having little feet at school, they can’t win! Having smaller feet makes them clumsy, there’s a bonus for your daughter after allSmile
