Hey ladies,

My family are mostly female so I have zero knowledge of boys and puberty.

I have a 9 year old son. I read that from the age of 9 a boy can start puberty.

I’ve noticed the last couple of weeks my son has had a small amount of white discharge in his pants.

I’m not sure if this is the start of it or if maybe it’s an imbalance in his sodium (he had this a few years back and that too left white discharge but that was very powdery

My son turned 9 in February and is very big for his age 4ft tall a size 5 shoe and wears age 12-13 clothes (he isn’t “fat” (hate that word) but he is very broad shouldered (like a body builder without the 6 pack) and solid if that makes a difference

Amy advice on what to expect will be so much appreciated xx

Reported.

@1ForAllnAllFor1 what exactly are you reporting? I’ve asked for advice on what to expect as my son goes through puberty so I am prepared and if it has begun.

Mumsnet is somewhere parents can go to ask advice from other parents. Which is what I have done

Thanks for the reports - sensitive subjects always raise concerns.
The OP has been on MN for ages so we'll keep the thread.

Do you mean 5 foot tall? 4 foot is quite small for 9.

Sorry OP, I just didn’t want to risk it. I looked at the time of night you posted and the topic and then I couldn’t shake the possibility of it beinf a weirdo wanting stories about young one so had to report . MNHQ cleared u. Sorry again.

I don’t blame you 1ForAll. I just saw it for the first time and thought exactly the same. The title doesn’t help either. Don’t feel bad about it.

I've downloaded a couple of books on amazon about boys and puberty - going to choose the best and give it to my son. First thing I'm noticing about mine is his voice deepening.
