Period/body change chat

Hi
I have an 8 year old DD, nearly 9.
Being aware that I had my first period when I was nine I’d like to start talking to her about body changes etc.
Can anyone recommend any good books that I could perhaps read with her to start this off? Any other tips welcome.

I had to tell DD at 8 too as some of her school friends are almost a year older.

There's some book recommendations on A Mighty Girl.

What's Happening to Me? is a good book too as it's informative, but shouldn't give her enough information to scare her.

I also bought DD a period starter kit a few weeks after so that she could see what she'd be using and carry some in her school bag.

When she did start, she's actually been rather cool about it
