Son dating at 11

Is it ok for my son to date girls at 11 years old or too young? He is not yet but girls are asking him out. His mum tells him 'no girlfriends allowed' which I think is not quite the messaging that will work but i feel he's a bit young?

When you "Dating" is that just going out holding hands, kissing ect small stuff.
If so I personally wouldn't see a problem with my sons dating at 11 onwards. On strict terms of not getting pregnant. I have a 13,15 year olds boys and they have been meet girls since they were 11-12. It doesn't really last long their relationships at that age.
